In fiscal 2005, Nichirei established Jinzhu (Yantai) Food Research and Development Co., Ltd. In Shandong Province, China, as a joint venture with Nisshin Seifun Group Inc., to safely and stably supply products made in China.
The Company imports products into Japan only after it has been verified that the proper management steps have been implemented. This means that semi-finished products have been inspected before they have become inventory, while finished products have been checked before export.
Analyses conducted in China ensure that communication with local employees in charge is conducted in their own language. This, in turn, helps prevent further food-related incidents.
Moreover, the Company has been accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment—itself having been accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025 international laboratory accreditation standard requirements. The Company is constantly working to maintain and improve analysis accuracy by introducing the latest equipment.
