Ensuring Food Safety and Protecting Employees
To prevent intentional contamination of food products, the Group believes it is critically important to build relationships of trust between workplaces and employees, creating environments in which accidents are unlikely. Further, it is necessary to employ both theoretical and practical defense measures and verification methods when accidents do occur, to prevent intentional contamination and other incidents.
Based on this approach, at each operating company the Nichirei Group has established food defense systems, as appropriate for the type of products handled. One example is the Nichirei Foods Four Principles of Food Defense.
